How a turn goes
Tap, listen, think, answer, stop.
There is no wake word and nothing your child says switches it on. A tap in the Jubbo app is the only way anything begins.
- 1
You start it from the app
Pick the activity and who is playing. The eyes open wide to show Jubbo is listening, and the microphone opens now and at no other moment.
- 2
Your child speaks
When they stop, the microphone closes. The eyes narrow and a soft tick plays while it thinks, so a child knows it heard them.
- 3
Jubbo answers
Out loud, in the language you chose at home. Then the next question, or the next line of the story.
- 4
A right answer
The eyes smile. Nobody playing alone ever hears a score; a room of children hears who won.
- 5
It ends
Every activity has a last question. Then Jubbo rests with the microphone shut until you start the next one.
Between activities Jubbo does nothing. At most it says one short line every ten minutes to show it is still on. It will not start a conversation, and it cannot.
The box is for your child. The app is for you.
Your child never needs a screen, an account or a password. Everything that decides what happens lives on your phone, and nothing plays unless you started it.
A box that listens and talks
- No screen, nothing to tapTwo eyes that show it is listening or thinking. One power switch. That is the whole surface.
- Everything out loudStories, words and questions in English, Hindi or Gujarati, at your child's age.
- A microphone that is usually shutIt opens only inside an activity you started, and the audio is never kept.
- No ads, everNone in the box, none in the app, and nothing sold on from what your child says.
An app where you are in control
- You choose what playsPick the activity. Nothing starts on its own, and there is no open-ended conversation mode.
- You choose who playsEach child by name and age, siblings together, a visiting cousin, or you.
- You can end it any timeOne tap stops the box mid-sentence. Every activity ends on its own anyway.
- You see what happenedWho played, for how long, and one line on how it went. Never a recording.
- You can delete everythingA child, a box, or the whole account, from Settings. It is gone, not archived.
Jubbo keeps no persona and remembers nothing about your child between sessions beyond the age and progress settings you choose. What the microphone hears is turned into text for the turn and discarded when the turn ends.
Questions parents ask
The short answers. Every one of them is true of the box as it ships.
Write to us. A person reads it and answers, usually the same day.
info@getjubbo.comWhat ages is Jubbo for?
Jubbo is built for children aged 3 to 15. Stories, word games and quizzes match the age you set for each child in the parent app, so a four-year-old and a twelve-year-old get different activities from the same box.
Does Jubbo have a screen?
No. Jubbo has two expressive eyes, a microphone and a speaker. Your child listens, answers out loud, and when the activity ends, Jubbo stops. There is nothing to scroll.
Is Jubbo an AI companion or chatbot?
No. Jubbo is a smart toy that plays one activity at a time — a story, a word game or a quiz — and then stops. There is no open-ended chat, no persona that remembers your child, and nothing runs unless a parent has switched it on.
Does Jubbo need Wi-Fi?
Yes. Jubbo is a speaker and a microphone, not a computer — every story and every question comes from our servers, so it needs your home Wi-Fi to play anything. It joins 2.4 GHz networks only.
Can more than one child use the same box?
Yes. Add each child in the parent app with their age and the language spoken at home. Several children can play the same round together, and Jubbo tracks what each of them has already met.
Does Jubbo record my child?
The microphone only opens during an activity you started from the app. What it hears is sent to our servers to work out what was said, and is discarded when the turn ends — it is not kept as audio.
Which languages does it speak?
English, Hindi and Gujarati. You set the language spoken at home for each child, and Jubbo explains things in that language while teaching English.
What is in the box?
The Jubbo box, a USB-C cable and a quick start card. The parent app is free on iOS and Android.
